Join us on the 23rd June to hear about commercial opportunities in renewables, electrifying fleet and land management for carbon storage.
Durham County Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and has committed to becoming a carbon neutral county and council by 2050. To reach this target we need to come together as a county to mitigate the effects of climate change as much as we possibly can.
We want to support your decarbonisation so we have put together a series of events to demystify the net zero agenda and outline what you can do to reach Net Zero.
The event schedule and speakers are below:
9:30 am: Introduction to business and Net Zero
10:30 am: Sustainable building practises and the business case for on site renewables-
Tony Cleary, Managing Director, Lanchester Wines
11:50 am: Panel-
Discussion with our speakers
12:30 pm: Low carbon lunch provided by REfUSE.
1:15pm: Electrification of business fleet, charging infrastructure across County Durham and a chance to see our Try Before you Buy E-Vans-
Tracy Millmore, Electric Vehicle Project Officer, Durham County Council
Alex Cummings, County Fleet Manager, Durham County Council
3:00 pm: Sustainable land management for storage and sequestration of carbon-
Paul Leadbitter, Peatland Programme Manager, North Penines AONB.

So, we hope to see you there as we go, together towards Net Zero!
