North East Satellite Applications Centre of Excellence

The space and satellite market offers substantial and multiple opportunities for your business and you will find all the support you need to grow and thrive in the North East.

Business Durham leads a North East consortium which runs the North East Satellite Applications Centre of Excellence.  The centre is funded by the Satellite Applications Catapult and the UK Space Agency and we work closely with the European Space Agency. We’re based at the North East Technology Park (NETPark) in Sedgefield, County Durham, home to some of the world’s fastest-growing companies.

The centre can offer support as you come up with new ways to solve the world’s problems and open up opportunities using satellite data and technology. It can help you exploit the use of satellite data, technology and applications to gain a competitive advantage in a global market.  We’re interested in hearing from you if you’re already in the space sector but also if you have the potential to work in the space and satellite sector, but have not yet investigated what market opportunities this might mean.

We can help you in a myriad of ways, from one-to-one support and events to connecting you with potential investors and peers.

Our partners include:

  • The five North East universities
  • Concision
  • Harlands
  • Bonaccord
  • E2e services
  • NELEP
  • Durham County Council

Our overarching theme is using satellite applications to create a safer world, including sustainable living and climate change, security of supply chains, building resilience in infrastructure and assets, and much, much more. If this sounds like you, then contact us now.
