The manufacturer behind the Flymo brand has increased sales towards the £200m mark after enjoying success in European markets. The company is now anticipating growth across its operations and stressed that it is "closely monitoring" the potential impacts of Brexit.

The company headquartered in Newton Aycliffe and is behind the popular Flymo brand, which was formed in 1965 when its first electric hover mower was made in County Durham. It also manufactures Gardena and McCulloch products.
For the year to 31 December 2016, turnover was up from £153m to £196m.
The majority of this was courtesy of Husqvarna's performance in continental Europe as sales there increased from £71.1m to £112m. UK income rose from £81.7m to £83.9m.
