A County Durham procurement consultancy has been snapped up by Inspired Energy in a £1.4m deal.
Churchcom operates under two trading divisions: Church Energy Purchasing Group, which specialises in energy procurement for churches, and Energy Partners, which offers similar services for commercial customers.
It is hoped the latter arm will complement Inspired's core corporate division.
Churchcom benefits from a strong order book and has a long history of retaining customers and growing revenues within both divisions. For the financial year to 31 January 2017, it reported revenues of £640,000, generating operating cash of £470,000.
As part of the deal, its founder directors will leave the business following a handover period.
Inspired Energy has also bought the trade and assets of Flexible Energy Management Ltd (FEML) in Manchester. The company was founded in 2012 when it was spun out of the NHS.
