Hibbott’s Artisan Spirits have recently relocated to premises on the Dabble Duck Business Park in Shildon.
Hibbott’s was started during the COVID 19 pandemic by musicians Sarah and Duncan Wilson in Hertfordshire, but family circumstances necessitated a move north.
Despite being new to making spirits, Hibbott’s “Water Rat” premium vodka won silver medal at the London Spirits Competition and has now won a presigious “Great Taste” three-star rating from the Guild of Fine Foods panel; the only vodka to achieve this accolade in 2023.
Moving everything from Hertfordshire to Co Durham wasn’t easy and there were a number of problems setting up the new distillery, getting the electrics and water set up correctly and most importantly getting permission to distill alcohol in the new premises.
Sarah and Duncan are now pleased to have started production again in this new phase of their business and are keen to speak to local retailers interested in stocking the range of Hibbott’s products.
