The British Business Bank’s Small Business Finance Market report highlights the North East’s commitment to net zero delivery, leading the North of England in smaller businesses operating in the green economy.
The sector saw a large influx of investment into the region, with net zero related deals accounting for £167m worth of investment in the North East, between 2018 and Q3 2022.
Murton-based Power Roll is one such net zero business that has turned to equity finance to achieve its goals. The business has developed an innovative technology to turn any surface into a generator of solar energy using a flexible solar film that is cheaper, lighter, and more effective than traditional materials.
