Durham digital firm Atom bank launches new recruitment drive

Durham digital banking company Atom bank has launched a recruitment drive as it prepares to expand its suite of products.

The Aykley Heads business, the UK’s first bank created purely for mobile phones, is hiring another 20 people into its technology team alongside roles in operations, risk and finance.

The jobs will be based at its Durham headquarters at the Rivergreen Centre, adding to the 420-strong workforce Atom has created since launching six years ago.

The recruitment drive comes as Atom bank has re-platformed its core technology stack onto Google Cloud, while also partnering with leading London based fintech company Thought Machine to create new products based on smart contracts, a novel technology that allows the bank to create flexible and customised products for all customers.
