As part of the ‘Think Big, Choose Small’ SME Careers Week, Careers & Enterprise have launched the SME Information Hub – an online space dedicated to supporting small and medium sized businesses with their student and graduate recruitment.
The SME Information Hub features support and guidance across the full recruitment cycle, from planning opportunities, writing job descriptions, and attracting candidates, to interviews, induction and training. The SME Information Hub aims to give small and medium-sized businesses an insight into the typical graduate recruitment timelines and an overview of the opportunities available to engage with students at Durham, as well as introducing the Employer Services Team. The team also hosted two networking sessions during the week, giving potential employers a chance to engage directly and learn more about recruiting from Durham University.
As part of the SME Careers Week, numerous student events were also held, including a newly launched SME Careers Fair, which was well received by participating students and employers alike. The development of the Hub and the SME Careers Week is part of Careers and Enterprise’s effort to foster SME engagement, and they will continue to develop more resources and engagement opportunities for SMEs on the hub and beyond.
