Plans to transform a three-storey building in Durham into a spa facility, which aims to help secure the future of the 16th century manor hotel, look set to advance.
The owners of the Hallgarth Manor Hotel are looking to change the use of The Orchard, located to the south of the hotel, which was previously used as a five-bedroom family home.
Due to the open plan nature of the home, which includes a conservatory overlooking a pond, it lends itself to a straightforward conversion, which will be used to attract more tourism and permanent visitors.
