Kromek launches new high-performance RIID

NETPark based Kromek has launched a new high performance radioisotope identification device (RIID), which is thought to be the smallest available in the world.

The D5 RIID, with ultra-low false alarm rate, is designed for military, homeland security and industrial use.

It was developed in a programme alongside the Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense.

The D5 detects a wide range of sources, including special nuclear material and mixed, shielded and heavily masked configurations.
