    National discount retailer invests £1m into new Durham store, creating 60 local jobs

    Home Bargains has invested approximately £1m in its new store on Old Pit Lane in Durham, which will be officially opened on February 18.

    As one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, Home Bargains is creating 60 new jobs in the local community with its store in Durham. In total, it will employ 60 team members, including some staff and management who will be transferring from local stores.

    It will also be donating £2,000 to a local charity, St Cuthbert’s Hospice, which provides free care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and people that are bereaved.
