Innovative NETPark tech firm Kromek wins lucrative deal with US manufacturer

County Durham tech firm Kromek has secured a significant agreement with a US manufacturer which it hopes could lead to a major supply contract.

The Sedgefield business, a worldwide supplier of detection technology focusing on the medical, security screening and nuclear markets, has announced a development agreement worth up to $660,000 with the American industrial manufacturer.

The majority of the development programme is scheduled to be delivered during the current financial year and, once completed, is expected to turn into a multi-year supply contract.

Under the development agreement, the group will customise one of its CZT (cadmium zinc telluride) detector platforms to be incorporated into the customer’s systems for identifying contaminations during production processes.
