County Durham housebuilders are ramping up plans to capitalise on soaring demand for new housing through a number of developments.
Cussins, Homes by Esh, Vistry Partnerships North East and Adderstone Living are among regional firms accelerating developments.
Durham housebuilder Homes by Esh is seeing growth on the back of the strong housing market, reporting a record start to the year with 70% of new homes across all developments now sold. The company said it posted a record number of completions in 2021 with figures more than doubling from the previous year, when construction activity was impacted by the pandemic outbreak.
The firm’s largest development is West Park Garden Village which will deliver 400 new homes in Darlington, where more than 25% of properties are now sold or reserved.
Elsewhere, the firm has the 156-home Elder Brook Park scheme, also in Darlington, where 60% of homes for 2022 are now sold or reserved, and Mount Park in Gateshead’s Springwell Village, where 90% of homes being built this year have been reserved off-plan.
Homes by Esh is now working towards strengthening its pipeline further through strategic land acquisition across the North East, with three sites undergoing planning.
