The company will invest the funds in Mosswood Water Treatments Works (WTW), near Consett, which provides supplies to County Durham, South Tyneside, Washington as well as areas in Sunderland and North Tyneside.
Included in the investment are upgraded power systems, increased chemical storage facilities, as well as a new lagoon that is expected to be finished in the Spring of 2024.
