A new B&M Home Store could be on its way to County Durham after plans were submitted four years after the site was initially identified by the major retailer.
In 2019, developer Imopro SA sought to develop the vacant site on Pelton Fell Road, Chester Le Street for the retailer and had an application accepted to start building on the land – which would have brought 40 jobs to the area. However, with the combination of Covid-19 and a slow down in development works, the plans were shelved for the last four years.
But, at the end of last week, developers re-submitted their plans to Durham County Council for approval – which sought to change some of the conditions initially approved by the local authority.
