Project proposals to develop unused buildings into business space sought

North Durham Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) is looking for project proposals in the CLLD area to help the development of unused buildings into business spaces.

North Durham CLLD has launched a new call for capital projects that will develop underused space to bring it into use as business space.  For example, this could involve refurbishment of buildings into offices and/or workshops for businesses to rent.

Projects will need to evidence the square metres of new build or space renovated and evidence how the project will impact on other North Durham CLLD outputs which include:

  • Developing an entrepreneurial culture to support individuals to be enterprise-ready
  • Providing appropriate support to new & existing organisations
  • Provide an increase in employment as a result of the development

With £111,630 funding available for grants of up to 55% towards eligible project costs, organisations can apply for grants starting at £10,000 for projects that can be delivered by 31 December 2021.  North Durham CLLD has a two-stage application process and deadlines for submitting the first stage Expression of Interest form is noon on Wednesday, 07 October 2020.

We are also offering 30-minute drop-in sessions for you to discuss project ideas and chat to members of the programme team about North Durham CLLD on the morning of Thursday 03 September 2020.  For more information and to book, visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/north-durham-clld-drop-in-clinics-tickets-117254556535
