North East tech firm Excelpoint has enjoyed a positive first-quarter performance with increased sales and recognition in the FSB, North East Business, and Aycliffe Business Park awards.
It has continued to build on the sales momentum from 2021, acquiring new customers in the engineering and manufacturing, energy, pharmaceutical, construction, shipping and ports, and industrial services sectors for its innovative no-code software.
To support its growing customer base and diverse utilisation of its software, Excelpoint has recently appointed two new software developers responsible for building additional depth and functionality, keeping pace with technological developments, and keeping ahead of a highly competitive market.
Joining the team are Ed Wyllie and Luke McNaughton. Drawing on his experiences at IBM, Cognos Analytics, Vertu Motors, and Mott MacDonald, Ed joins Excelpoint as a Software Engineer focusing on the front-end development of the client application and user interface. Luke joins the team as Back-end Software Engineer with previous experience working at Bishop Auckland College.
Both Ed and Luke recognise that the IT landscape is changing, with Ed commenting: “The current shortfall in software developers means that future development will move beyond the IT department. No-code enables organisations to continue to meet challenges by rapidly configuring simple and complex applications to add value, create efficiencies, and realise cost savings.”
With customers from SMEs to corporate brands recognised worldwide, Excelpoint has appointed Parry Jenkins as Strategic Business Consultant. With over 30 years of experience within the technology sector at Accenture, B2E Consulting, and as Head of Homecare at AgeUK, Parry is responsible for broadening the scope of services and pursuing high-value opportunities in the private and public sectors. He is an advocate of no-code, having built and deployed Excelpoint solutions previously. Parry commented: “No-code enables organisations to leverage value from non-technical employees to create enterprise-grade applications at pace. The technology enables them to pivot and adapt, removing the reliance on already busy IT departments and avoiding the pitfalls of technical debt.”
Finally, Charlie Auld and Lee Dodgson join the team as an Apprentice Software Support Technician and Apprentice Business Consultant. They will gain invaluable experience in customer service, product testing, system configuration, and continuous improvement while working towards the achievement of their apprenticeships.
