The LDC Top 50, which was created by Lloyds Banking Group’s investment partner LDC and supported by The Times, champions the business leaders who are pushing for growth and building successful medium-sized businesses.
Tony Cleary, CEO of Lanchester Group has made this year’s list, which organisers say showcases the outstanding talent and ambition that exists among entrepreneurs across the UK.
Mr Cleary also won the ESG Award as part of Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme for 2023, which took place at a celebratory event at BAFTA in London after a judging session in which a panel selected the final award winners. Mr Cleary has built Lanchester Group, which encompasses Lanchester Wines, Greencroft Bottling, The Wine Fusion, Bon Bon’s Wholesale and Spicers of Hythe, into a business with strong sustainability credentials. An advocate of renewable energy, he is leading the development of a new self-powered bottling plant, which he believes is the most sustainable large building on the planet.
