Have your say: Climate Emergency Response 3 (CERP3 2024-2027)

Durham County council’s first CERP (2019-21) was developed through extensive consultation with Council staff, community groups, residents, schools, and other organisations. This was followed by a revised and updated Climate Emergency Response Plan 2 which was adopted by Cabinet in July 2022 and contained a costed, two-year plan detailing over 150 projects that the council and its partners needed to take towards achieving targets of being a net zero council by 2030 (achieving an 80% actual reduction in operational emissions towards this) and a net zero county by 2045.

The council are now in development of the next CERP which will run from 2024 to 2027.

By taking part in this consultation, you are helping to make sure that the action plan is meeting expectations and we are moving in the right direction.

The consultation consists of nine thematic areas with around five to seven questions in each section along with a free text box where you can put forward any further comments you may have around the specific theme.

The questionnaire should take no more than 20mins, however, you do have the option of skipping sections if you find you are unable to respond to specific chapters. This option is right at the beginning of the questionnaire.

The section relating to business is section 4 and you can choose this right at the start of the consultation along with defining your audience segmentation. Please make sure you pick the correct audience that identifies your role closer.

You can start filling in the CERP3 consultation by clicking this link.

The consultation will close on midnight 26th November.
