A £25 million scheme to transform towns and villages across County Durham is going from strength-to-strength, with more than £13 million invested and many more exciting projects in the pipeline.
Next week, our Cabinet will hear how the Towns and Villages programme has supported a wide range of regeneration projects since its launch in 2018, as well as helping hundreds of new and existing businesses to thrive.
From bringing empty buildings back into use and providing training to new retail businesses, to supporting events and improving walking and cycling routes - the programme responds to the challenges faced by many towns and villages and delivers improvements for the benefit of all those who live, work, study and visit there.
