County Durham’s annual Get Set Green Exhibition is set to take place on Wednesday 19th February 2025 at Ramside Hall, Durham. The event is sponsored by the Durham Business Growth Programme and is being co-ordinated by Business Durham and Durham County Council’s Low Carbon Team.
The UK government has recently announced new climate goals at COP29, including reducing emissions by 81% by 2035 and Net Zero by 2050. At local level Durham County Council (DCC) have committed for all its operations to be Net Zero by 2030 and have ambitious targets for the whole of the County to be Net Zero by 2045.
According to the latest available figures (2022/23) the Council operations contributed only 3% of the overall County Durham total whilst the figure from commercial and industrial sectors are over seven times that (22%). This…
