A County Durham wedding venue in Spennymoor has undergone a major transformation.


Whitworth Hall in Spennymoor, a Grade II-listed country house south of Durham City, has been significantly refurbished through a £2.4 million funding package from Develop North PLC, an investment company managed by Newcastle-based Tier One Capital.


The funding has supported the creation of a new chapel and function suite for up to 125 guests, as well as a complete refresh of the estate’s existing facilities.
