Tourism and hospitality businesses across the North East have been recognised at a glittering ceremony.
A celebration of the North East's visitor economy took place at Newcastle Civic Centre as more than 450 businesses and regional and national leaders gathered for the 24th annual Destination North East England Tourism Awards.
Sponsored by LNER and organised in association with the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, the ceremony honoured outstanding achievements in tourism across the region, with businesses from County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Northumberland among this year’s winners.
