Barnard Castle opticians collects more than 100 toys for local charity to continue partnership

A Barnard Castle opticians has collected more than 100 toys for local charity Angel Trust as it continues to strengthen its partnership with the charity.

The store, based on the Horse Market, is locally owned and run and takes great pride in giving back to the community in County Durham.

Working together with colleagues at the Specsavers Bishop Auckland store, the team at Barnard Castle also helped gather food donations and winter care packages for people experiencing homelessness for the charity.

Angel Trust aims to support people in need across County Durham and Darlington, utilising its foodbank services, working with local families and children and offering a safe space for those who need it.

Tamsin, retail manager at Specsavers Barnard Castle, is delighted to be strengthening their ties with the charity after previously running out-of-hours clinics to provide optical and hearing care for people experiencing homelessness.

Tamsin says: ‘Angel Trust is a brilliant charity who do invaluable work in our local community, and we are delighted to play a small part in supporting them.

‘We know the toys, food and packages will reach the people who need the help most as we strive to give back to people in Barnard Castle and wider County Durham.’
