A County Durham conservation group is helping visitors discover more about local wildlife thanks to a £1400 funding boost.

West Rainton & Leamside Green Group has installed a new information board at a popular community orchard and picnic area on the site of the former Middle Rainton village.

The board, funded by the Banks Group’s Community Fund and designed with support from Durham County Council, highlights the plants and animals found in the surrounding countryside.
