The Peterlee firm turned over more than £52m last year and has been sold to Rcapital Partners
A County Durham manufacturer has been sold to new owners in an undisclosed deal.
Peterlee based GT Emissions Systems has been snapped up by UK private equity fund Rcapital Partners, following an agreement with former owners Knorr-Bremse. The company supplies leading manufacturers with emission control systems for diesel engines in on- and off-highway vehicles, helping diesel engine manufacturers to meet international emission standards that apply to them.
Its specialist components include exhaust throttle valves, exhaust gas recirculation valves and intake throttle valves. GT Emissions Systems has its head office in Peterlee but also has sites in Italy, Brazil and India, and accounts for the company for 2023 show it made significant investment of £3.4m into fixed assets across the business to help improve profitability. The firm turned over £52.1m last year, up from £50.6m, while employing an average of 219 people.
