A developer has unveiled £250 million plans to create a 4500-job business park.

Citrus Durham hopes to build a 3.2 million sq ft hub near Bowburn, in County Durham.

Bosses say the proposed extension – close to junction 61 of the A1(M) – would create and support 4500 posts during construction and operation, and generate up to £170 million annual economic output.

The venture would stand alongside an Amazon distribution warehouse and the existing Integra 61 scheme, which includes business units, food outlets, a 73-bed care home and more than 250 houses.
