Young people in a County Durham village are gaining new skills and confidence thanks to a charity and backing from a development company's community fund.

Durham Area Youth, which supports children and teenagers aged six to 18, used a £1,600 grant from the Banks Group to run an overnight trip to Moor House Adventure Centre.

The trip gave 12 young people from West Rainton and surrounding areas a chance to take part in high ropes, crate stacking, shelter building and other confidence-boosting challenges.
