Durham University’s successful 'careers weeks' series returns for a fourth year

Durham University’s flagship careers weeks and fairs in 2024 proved a resounding success.


With over 5,000 students and 200 employers in attendance, and 94% of students reporting that participation positively impacted their career planning, these career fairs continue to serve as an ideal platform for employers to connect with ambitious, capable students preparing to take their first career steps.


The events also received outstanding feedback from participating employers. One described the fairs as ‘the best grad fair in the North East’, praising the organisation, location, and calibre of students. Another employer highlighted the value of face-to-face interaction, commenting: ‘The career fair was a great opportunity to engage with motivated students and discuss the work we do. We LOVE coming to Durham.’

The next series of careers fairs begins in October 2025, with a focus on key graduate recruitment sectors: Law, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), and Business, Finance and Consulting (BFC). Dates and booking links are as follows:


STEM Fair

Book onto this fair if you are an organisation that offers STEM opportunities and are interested in engaging with a range of students from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines.


Law Fair

Open to law firms and barrister's chambers, this fair is the perfect occasion for promoting traineeships, vacation work and specialist roles to students particularly interested in a legal career, including students who are thinking of converting to law.

Business, Finance and Consulting Careers Fair

If you are an organisation offering opportunities in finance, consulting, or any other business sectors, join this fair to connect with student interested in pursuing a career in business and finance.



North East Regional Careers Fair – 28 January 2026

Showcase your opportunities. Inspire future talent. We are inviting North East-based employers to join us at our North East Regional Careers Fair on 28 January 2026 — an event designed to connect local businesses with the next generation of graduates.


Durham University is committed to showcasing the breadth of career opportunities available within the region. This fair supports that mission by encouraging students to see the North East not only as a place to study, but as a vibrant location to live, work, and grow their careers.
