A family-run County Durham salon is in the running for a place among England's best after winning a regional award just 18 months after opening.


Storey's Hair and Beauty in Sedgefield won County Durham Hair and Beauty Salon of the Year at the 2026 England Business Awards and will now compete nationally.


Rebecca Storey, salon founder and stylist, said: "When we opened, we wanted to create a really good salon in Sedgefield and build something that our customers would want to come back to.
