Businesses across County Durham are invited to attend the next Drum Business Network event, bringing together expert speakers, practical business support and valuable networking opportunities for organisations looking to grow with confidence.

The upcoming event on Thursday 21 May in Chester-le-Street will focus on helping businesses access funding and support, embrace digital innovation and strengthen customer conversion strategies through practical, actionable advice.

Funding and Support Spotlight

Attendees will hear from FADNE, who will introduce a dedicated food and drink support offer as part of the Rural Growth Programme. The initiative will provide tailored one-to-one advice, practical workshops and networking opportunities for food, drink and hospitality businesses across the North East.

The event will also feature Made Smarter, the national movement helping businesses adopt digital technologies to improve productivity, reduce waste and future-proof operations. Built around four key pillars — Adoption, Innovation, Skills and Leadership — Made Smarter supports organisations at every stage of their digital journey, from first steps through to scaling growth.

Guest Speaker: Allison Dore

The keynote speaker for the event is Allison Dore, Growth Consultant and Founder of Hello Friday Consulting.

With more than 20 years of experience in marketing and commercial strategy, including almost a decade as Head of Marketing at Hitachi Construction Machinery UK, Allison specialises in helping founder-led service businesses create sustainable, measurable growth.

Her session, Turning Interest into Revenue: Practical Insights on the Customer Journey and Lead Conversion, will provide practical insight into refining the customer journey, improving lead conversion and turning enquiries into paying clients.

Designed to deliver actionable ideas and meaningful business connections, the Drum Business Network event will also provide attendees with the opportunity to connect with other businesses from across North Durham and explore the support available to help them grow.
