The North East Automotive Alliance has been appointed the designated employer representative body for the new North East Local Skills Improvement Plan (NELSIP).

They add the North East Automotive Alliance will work with the North East Combined Authority, employers, learning providers and employer representative bodies to “tackle skill shortages, strengthen workforce development and reinforce the region as a hub for innovation and excellence”.

The appointment comes after the North East Automotive Alliance led the delivery of a previous NELSIP across County Durham, Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside, which it says supported more than 500,000 people.
