Taking place on Thursday 10 September at The Greenhouse, Annfield Plain, the free event will bring businesses together for a relaxed morning of practical conversation, useful connections and support tailored to the issues that matter most.
North Durham Business Network brings together and builds on the former Drum Business Park Group and Northern Tenants networks. It is open to businesses based in, around or with a focus on County Durham, offering a valuable space to share ideas, raise challenges and discover support.

After networking over tea and coffee, attendees will be able to join one of three focused discussion tables:
Digital and AI adoption: Explore how automation, AI and other digital tools can help businesses improve efficiency, strengthen customer relationships and support growth.
Employability and skills: Discuss how businesses can connect with education, placements and apprenticeships to develop the workforce they need now and in the future.
Funding and support: Find out more about the grants, finance and business support available to help turn ambitions into action.
The sessions will be led by specialists who bring real experience and practical insight. Nathan Rowland, Senior Digital Adoption Specialist at Sunderland Software City, has supported more than 500 SMEs and organisations with their digital adoption. Georgia Pirelli-Russell, Business Development Consultant at Derwentside College, will share her expertise in employer engagement, industry placements and building stronger links between education and business. Ian Wood, Business Growth Adviser at the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority and part of the North East Growth Hub’s Made Smarter programme, will be on hand to discuss funding, growth and digital investment.
Whether you have a specific question, a challenge you are working through or simply want to make better local connections, this is an opportunity to speak to the right people in the room.
The morning will finish with an informal pizza brunch, giving attendees more time to continue the conversation, meet fellow businesses and speak directly with the support providers.
