MasterChef star Mike Bartley reveals opening date for Bishop Auckland restaurant

Jörd, the new restaurant from former MasterChef contestant Mike Bartley, will open on Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, on Friday, October 16, nearly two years after a fire forced it to move.


Mr Bartley announced the project in 2023, but a fire damaged the original site in October 2024.


He later confirmed it would open instead in the former Fox's Tale café further along Newgate Street.


Mr Bartley said: "It has taken so long to get to this point, and I am beyond excited to be able to finally open the doors and welcome you in."
