A popular County Durham pub has welcomed punters back through its doors with a new owner at the helm.
The Red Lion in Plawsworth, near Chester-le-Street, announced on social media on Monday, March 2, that the venue has joined the Durham Hospitality Group, under a new operator.
David Burnside, 38, from Durham, said taking over the much-loved pub marks a full-circle moment for him, having worked at the venue as his first bar job when he was just 18.
