Global engineering inspection service provider NECIT Services is supporting its 2026 business ambitions with the appointment of new Operations Manager, Calum Watson.

After an incredible 2025, NECIT Services looks to cement their successes and support further growth throughout the new year with the expansion of their business development team. Calum Watson comes to NECIT with valuable professional experiences working in both the public and private sectors. Watson has worked within Sunderland City Council’s Business Investment Team to support and develop North East SMEs. As Operations Manager for global furniture retail company IKEA Group’s Gateshead unit, Watson oversaw the business’ rapid growth and digitisation, developing the vital skillsets required to guide businesses through the challenges expansion can bring.

Since moving into new premises, NECIT has used their increased capacity to bring in new team members and increase the services offered. The technical department will continue to be trained and upskilled, providing NECIT with the in-depth industry knowledge required to support clients with the highest standards of expertise. These developments mean that NECIT is able to strengthen their current output, expand into new markets, all while maintaining the same exceptional quality of their services for new and existing clients, to continue to support the UK and global engineering industry with world-class certification, inspection, and testing.
