A North East women’s football club has entered a new chapter following a change in ownership and the introduction of a new board.

Durham Women FC, previously owned by Durham University, is now co-owned by club director Lee Sanders and long-term co-director Dawn Hepple.
The move is set to drive “significant investment” on and off the pitch and help the team, currently in fourth place in the Women’s Championship, to “reach new heights”.
They are joined by investors Patrick and Frances Connolly, long-time supporters of the club, who have become shareholders.
