North East BioAnalytics Engagement Day: Discover what BioAnalytics can do for your research

North East Universities are pleased to invite Academics, Postdocs, PGRs and Technical specialists from across the region to the first North East BioAnalytics Engagement Day, taking place on Wednesday 2 December 2026 at Durham University’s Department of Biosciences.

The event will bring together university expertise, leading technology providers and innovation partners to explore how advanced bioanalytical capabilities can support research, solve technical challenges and enable new collaborations.

The North East has extensive and complementary expertise across mass spectrometry, chromatography, proteomics, metabolomics and the analysis of complex biological samples. Technical leads from Durham University, Newcastle University,  Northumbria University and Teesside University will showcase regional facilities and capabilities, helping delegates understand what bioanalytics could do for their research.

Representatives from Bruker, Merck, Waters, SCIEX, Thermo Fisher Scientific and CPI will also attend to hear directly from end users, understand emerging research needs and explore opportunities for technical demonstrations, method development, training and collaborative projects.

The day will provide an opportunity to:

  • Discover bioanalytics expertise, facilities and technologies available across the North East

  • Discuss research challenges and unmet analytical needs with university and industry specialists

  • Explore how mass spectrometry, chromatography, proteomics and metabolomics could strengthen your work

  • Help shape future demonstrations and engagement with technology providers

  • Identify opportunities for training, method development and collaboration

Whether you already use bioanalytical techniques or would simply like to understand their potential, this event will provide a practical forum to share your needs, connect with specialists and explore new possibilities.
