North East businesses are making greater productivity their focus for 2026, according to Lloyds' Business Barometer, with firms also noting that upskilling staff is where they need extra support.
The survey, which is filled out by 1,200 businesses monthly, found that 50 per cent of companies are looking to boost productivity, with 48 per cent planning to upskill their staff.
