Plans for a new community in County Durham, which would include more than 1,400 homes, a primary school and local centre, have officially been lodged.
The Church Commissioners for England has submitted a joint planning application with Durham County Council for up to 1,425 homes in Newton Aycliffe.
If approved, the 239.9-acre scheme would feature a series of interlinked neighbourhoods set out around a central spine road. This would connect to sustainable transport options including walking and cycling routes and a bus route that feeds into the local network.
