Ramside Hall harnesses solar power boost

A County Durham hotel is expanding its green energy capacity with a major solar project.
SCJ Renewables has completed the second and final phase of its installation at Ramside Hall, adding more than 360 panels to the hotel’s new driving range.
The project began in March 2024, with the first phase seeing 326 panels installed across the spa, main reception and bedrooms, feeding into the hotel’s main electricity supply.
The latest phase added a 202kWp system with 364 panels to “The Pin,” Ramside’s new entertainment centre featuring a 43-bay driving range and interactive facilities.
