The Department for Business and Trade has published updated Sector Plans as part of the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy, a 10-year roadmap to increase investment and growth in eight key sectors through to 2035.

The Department for Business and Trade has published updated Sector Plans as part of the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy, a 10-year roadmap to increase investment and growth in eight key sectors through to 2035.


Each plan was developed in partnership with industry and sets out a vision for sector transformation, with a focus on economic security, resilience, net zero, and regional growth.


The sectors include:


  • Advanced Manufacturing

  • Creative Industries

  • Clean Energy Industries

  • Digital and Technologies

  • Professional and Business Services

  • Life Sciences

  • Financial Services

  • Defence
