The Grey Horse in Consett took CAMRA's Regional Pub of the Year title on several occasions and has been hailed by customers as their "favourite watering hole."
Opened in 1848, The Grey Horse is the oldest pub in Consett and one of the oldest in County Durham, a traditional two-room pub on Sherburn Terrace with a wood-beamed ceiling, an L-shaped bar, and an open fire in both the lounge and the bar for cold evenings.
There is no food, no music policy during the week, and no television in the bar.
