A scheme to demolish and redevelop buildings at Durham Academy looks set to be backed.
Willmott Dixon lodged the plans, on behalf of The Department for Education, to bulldoze two "outdated" teaching blocks on the site at Bracken Court.
The buildings would be replaced with a new three-storey property, accommodating 500 pupils, to the south-western area of the site.
