Bookings Now Open for Durham University’s Spring Careers Fair
Durham University Careers Fair

Durham University is delighted to announce that bookings are now open for our Spring Careers Fair, taking place on Wednesday 28 January 2026, from 1.00–4.00pm at the Teaching & Learning Centre.

The fair is open to employers from all sectors - regional SMEs, national graduate recruiters, charities, public sector organisations, and employers offering alternative career routes. Whether you are promoting graduate schemes, internships, placements or insight programmes, the event provides a welcoming, well-supported space to meet Durham talent.

A particular welcome to North East employers While the fair is open nationally, we are especially keen to welcome more organisations from across the North East. We want every student to know there are strong, viable pathways to stay, work, and grow here in the region. Local employers play a vital role in showing students the breadth of opportunities available right on their doorstep, and the fair is an ideal chance to raise awareness of these routes.

Why attend?

Careers fairs remain one of the most effective ways for employers to build visibility and engage directly with students. They allow organisations to:

· Connect with students early and build brand presence

· Promote upcoming or year-round opportunities

· Share insights into the skills and attributes they value

· Engage first-year students who are already thinking ahead

Our recent autumn fairs - STEM, Law, and Business, Finance & Consultancy - attracted 125 employers and over 3,800 students (more than 1000 students at each fair). This year saw a noticeable rise in first-year engagement, with many eager to understand the landscape early so they can develop the right skills and experience over the next two years. Employers attending the Spring Careers Fair will have a valuable chance to support this early careers thinking and help shape their future applicant pool.

Who are the students you will meet?

Durham students are academically strong, highly motivated, and increasingly career-ready. Many actively build their employability while studying—through placement years, internships, volunteering, enterprise activities, and part-time work—making them confident and prepared to step into professional roles.

You will meet a highly diverse and varied student body, representing a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and academic disciplines. Students attend from all years, from first-year undergraduates exploring future pathways to finalists actively seeking graduate roles.

Join us this spring

Whether your aim is early engagement, brand visibility, pipeline building, or exploring the next generation of talent, the Durham University Spring Careers Fair is a valuable opportunity to connect with students who are ambitious, curious, and ready to contribute.
