Local businesses looking to connect, access support and stay informed are invited to attend the next Bishop Auckland & Shildon Network Meeting on Thursday 23 April 2026.
The event will take place from 08:30 to 10:30 at the McIntyre Centre at Bishop Auckland College on Newgate Street. Bringing together businesses from across the area, the session offers networking, insight and practical support, alongside guest speakers covering key topics relevant to employers and business owners.

Supporting Financial Wellbeing
Newcastle Building Society will outline how they support businesses through tailored financial wellbeing programmes.
Their approach is designed to work for organisations of all sizes, from sole traders to larger teams. Using a structured questionnaire, they help businesses identify priorities and challenges before creating a bespoke financial wellbeing plan. This provides practical guidance for both business owners and employees, helping to improve confidence around financial decision-making.
Training Opportunities for Local Businesses
Bishop Auckland College will also provide an update on its training offer for employers.
This includes bespoke training designed around business needs, as well as new provision in AI and digital skills. These programmes aim to help businesses upskill their workforce and respond to changing demands across industries.
