County Durham law firm appoints new family head

Catherine Lowther, Swinburne Maddison's new head of the family department, with Jonathan Moreland, managing partner and head of dispute resolution

Swinburne Maddison LLP has promoted Catherine Lowther to head of its family department.

Catherine joined the Durham-based law firm as a trainee in 2014, qualifying in 2016 and rising to managing associate in 2022. She now leads the family department, marking over a decade of service.

Renowned for handling complex cases involving divorce, financial remedy and child arrangements – often for high-net-worth clients – Catherine is known for her bespoke advice and collaborative approach.
