Devine Chemicals, an additives manufacturer and global distributor to the coatings and construction industries, has moved to larger premises to support further business growth.
The move follows several years of strong and sustained business growth and forms a key part of Devine Chemicals’ strategy to drive expansion.
The 30,000 sq ft modern premises in County Durham, North East of England is double the size of its previous site five miles away and meets both the company’s current operational needs and its long-term growth ambitions. The expansion plans include the installation of a bespoke innovation and production area from which the next generation of Devine Chemicals’ additives will be developed, as well as investment in machinery and warehousing capabilities. This will enable the company to increase production capabilities and reduce logistic overheads.
The company has a national technical centre in Haslingden, UK, which offers state-of-the-art equipment and a team of technical specialists who research and develop the next generation of additives for Devine Chemicals’ own product portfolio as well as collaborate with customers to design products that tackle complex industry challenges and help position them as leaders in their markets.
This move will allow Devine Chemicals, which has locations in Holland, Europe and the U.S., to further expand its services and manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demand for its products from across the globe.
Founded in 1994, Devine Chemicals specialises in water-based chemistry and has designed a range of products to enhance the performance and sustainability of applications in the coatings, construction, agrochemicals and adhesives. These include DeCAL - a range of synthetic thickeners and dispersants; DeTOX – a range of titanium dioxide pigments; and DeLOUR – a series of phthalocyanine pigments. In addition, Devine Chemicals’ building and construction division AptiCem offers dry mortar additives, admixtures, defoamers and lithium carbonate replacements.
Daniel Devine, Managing Director, said: “This move is transformative for Devine Chemicals as it gives us the capacity we need to grow and drive further innovation in our industry, through the creation of new products and supporting our customers in delivering their own solutions.
“Our team has grown, international demand is increasing — especially in the U.S. — and we’re well-positioned to grow our headcount and sales revenue.”
Devine Chemicals Ltd offers a trusted and personal service with full technical support and a comprehensive after-sales service, supported by in-depth knowledge of speciality chemicals and their applications.
