Growth on radar as County Durham tech firm seals defence deal

A County Durham technology firm has bolstered its order book with an £800,000 defence deal.
Filtronic is set to supply parts to aerospace operator Leonardo. The parts will be made at Filtronic’s NETPark base, in Sedgefield, County Durham, and be delivered during the second half of its next financial year.
Bosses say the firm will send apparatus to strengthen Leonardo’s Active Electronically Scanned Array radar system, which aids aircraft pilots during air-to-air combat missions.
