A new solar farm will provide electricity to a major manufacturer in County Durham.
The new facility at Stainton, near Barnard Castle, will power the nearby Glaxo Smith Kline factory for 40 years.
The pharmaceutical and biotechnology company said the solar farm will help maintain the firm’s presence in the region.
An annual £15,000 Community Fund to support local initiatives and good causes will be set up by Glaxo Smith Kline.
